Founder & Director
Linneti Kirungi is the Founder and Executive Director of Hope Care Rescue Mission. She was inspired to start the organization because she is an acid attack survivor who was attacked after she refused a marriage proposal by her ex-boyfriend while in her first year of college at Makerere University in 2012.
Linneti obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda in 2015. She worked as the office administrator for a former organization in Uganda supporting acid attack survivors from 2015-2017. She then took a position with End Acid Violence Uganda, where she worked as the programs manager from 2017-2020. In 2020, Linneti founded Hope Care Rescue Mission, an extension of End Acid Violence Uganda. HOCRAM now works with over 200 acid attack survivors in Uganda and is the leading organization supporting survivors in Uganda.
